I used to love Garth Marenghi when it was on-very surreal.
It wasn't that long ago either-I think it was only a couple of years ago.
I still can't get into that other Hoosier favourite though, The Mighty Boosh.
I'm all for original comedy, but I just find that plain disturbing.
I was really trying to get into last night when it was on BBC3 or something, since everyone seems to be raving about it, and it was obvious that I was just watching the visions of a couple of blokes high on cannabis.
At one point there was a giant bubblegum wizard thing that was attacking everyone.
Is this the famous Charlie song that everyone is copying?:

Hehe that vid of them singing is so funny.
Sounds just like it!
I lovveee IT Crowd!! Woo it's my second favourite program!
I will MP3ise there version later for myself :D
I don't think Mighty Boosh is funny.
I've seen like 9 eps and I only thought 2 were funny.
Overrated!!

I agree that The Mighty Boosh is overrated, but maybe you need to be, er, medicated when you watch it.
Notice too that Martin in slumped yet again in the Makin' Love clip. Can that man ever sit upright?

I have to say I've never got around to watching The IT Crowd, but I loved Garth Marenghi-especially the episode with the eye child.
I like Harry Hill's TV Burp, satirical comedy such as Have I Got News For You, and I used to love Father Ted when it was on.
Come to think of it, Dougal sort of reminds me of Martin (not that I'm suggesting he's thick, but the whole naievity of the character is similar, I feel):

Plus, notice the red tanktop-yet more wool.

Woo Harry's Hill TV Burp is excellent. But is lackluster on a few weeks.
Saturday's was hilarious!
Except the Steve McDonald farm went on for too long.
Has Simon Amstell left Buzzcocks? I hope not.
If so, then Irwin would be a great fill-in :D
He would aswell.. Dontcha think?
thetricktolife
09-03-2008, 09:37 PM
I dont think Simon has left, it was just the funniest thing they could think of to base a compliation show around
Yeah the Steve McDonald went on forever!
its very ITV though that programme
with the catch phrases
like Al Murray
where they have the same joke over and over
MrsSparkes
09-03-2008, 09:47 PM
Yeah that gets a bit boring too sometimes.
It all depends on the guests tho that program.
thetricktolife
09-03-2008, 09:52 PM
Well they do the same on Harry Hill too
the "I wonder which is better, theres only one way to find out"
MrsSparkes
09-03-2008, 09:56 PM
Yeah last week he was going to say that again and then remembered he had already done it hehe!
"Oh that's already been done on today's show.. Ah.."

Ooooh-I can't stand that Simon Amstell person.
He's so big-headed and has to steal the limelight from anyone thats trying to say anything.
Little Irwin couldn't get a word in edgeways because of Simon's love affair for that Miquita Oliver woman.
I agree about Al Murray too-he was funny when he started off, but now he relies on the same punchlines and jokes-that Big Bob one is just not funny.
I like him as a man, he seemed really sweet on Hell's Kitchen, but maybe he's not allowed his creativity by the producers or something, because I'm sure he can do better than he's doing now.
Oh, I loved Russell Brand's Ponderland too.
It was only six parts, but I was in hysterics.
Forgot to add The Office and Extras too, as being classics.
Ben Stiller (AKA Irwin) was great.

Yeah and the "if we didnt have rules where would we be"
Blah blah blah joke
hes a very funny man, just over ITV'd
MrsSparkes
09-03-2008, 10:31 PM
Hehe, aka Irwin :D
I like Simon Amstell!! I think he isn't big-headed tho, because he was totally different on Popworld.. And wasn't big-headed at all.
thetricktolife
09-03-2008, 10:37 PM
I like Amstell too.. hes alright :)
I think he can be a bit mean to people, but thats what he does.
Thats his comedic thing

i know someone who went to school with him, he said he was a bit of a twat. i think he's hillarious though. especially when he was on popworld, bands were scared to do interviews with him lol. dont think much of maquita oliver though.
