The Hoosiers will be playing in Camden on the 20th June for a small gig in conjunction with Capital Radio.

Erm I had to text in 'LIVE' when they played the buzzer sound. And then I heard the radio guy saying, 'we're just going to ring the winner back now' So I hear the dial tone on the radio, and then...my phone rang!!! ha ha! What makes it even better is that my ringtone was the trick to life! ha ha!

But I haven't heard back from capital yet, they said they would ring me again to sort out tickets..and they haven't :hmmmm2:

Apparently it will be quite a small little gig which will be nice, and hopefully they will play a full set! I will try and get some vids and post them up somewhere!

It was absolutly fantastic! :loco: Here is a full report as promised!

Well from the start, the venue was stunning. It was part of Gilgamesh Restaurant if anyone knows of it, but its a pretty glam bar and everything. It was over the Stables Market in Camden, so the setting was very unique. So to get in, you have to go up a whole load of posh looking stairs, felt a bit out of my depth, ha ha! We got things around our neck as we went in, and two free drinks tokens, it was all very exciting before the music even started!

We walked into this big studio thing and they had a little stage set up at the far end. Obviously I ran straight to the stage, postioned myself infront of Irwin's mic. and then didn't move for the next 3 hours! :rockon:

So yes, my friend and I were right at the front. There was no barrier between us and the stage, we were literally in touching distance of them all! To put it into contect how close we were, I couldn't actually take a picture of the full set as it wouldnt all fit in my camera! It was amazing!

There was quite a long wait until they came on stage, I think they were busy eating haribo in the dressing room! But we can't complain, it was free! But they did eventually come out, and gosh did they put on a show!

They came bounding out to the usual 'the feeling you get' which was quite exciting! And then the first song was Worst Case Scenario. This was good as most people knew it and got the crowd (of 200 people max.) going a bit more! Throughout the whole of this first song I was transfixed on Irwin, and the fact that he was just...there! he he! It was amazing! And he kept looking at us, but that might be due to him trying to work out where the bad singing was coming from! ha ha!

Next song was Killer, and then Run Rabbit Run I think. During Run Rabbit Run, I was looking at Al and then he looked at me! he he! So I was like, arh what do I do! So I just smiled and he smiled back, and kept looking at me! It was so funny!

After this encounter with Al, they played The trick to life! I have this filmed so may try to get it up on youtube. Although a camera man stood right in front of me half way through! I think they palyed clinging on for life, or it might have been everything goes dark..mmm cant quite remember! They definately played both but cant remember the order! he he!

Actually, Im having trouble remembering the rest of the set! Oo I think they played mr a, then a sadness runs through him. Through one of these two songs, I was looking at Martin and again he looked at me! So yep I just smiled at him, he he! It was funny again! Irwin was looking at us too, but Martin and Al kept the gaze for a lot longer! ha ha!

They played cops next! It was very very very good! he he! On the third chorus, my friend and I started the dance from the video! Irwin looked at us and laughed/smiled! And once the song was finsihed, he said - "loved the dancing at the front, dont be shy!!!" He mentioned us, whoop!

Next the were supposed to go of then come back for an encore, but they couldnt be bothered! ha ha! We had to imagine that they had run off then come bounding back again, lazy hoosiers! he he!

So they 'came back' and played we didnt start the fire. (it seems that its compuslosry for them to play that at every gig! he he!) Irwin started the first two lines with his eyes closed (hot!!) and then opened them. He opened his eyes then looked in suprise at me! I think it was because I was singing the words and he was a bit taken a back that someone knew the words, good times!

Then they finished with ray. That was amazing! And everyone knew it which was good! A perfect end to perfect set! And at the end, Al walked over to where I was standing and handed me his drumsticks and smiled! He was handing both of them to me but the lady next to me grabbed one out of his hand, grrr!

So yes, gig over by 10!! he he! It was a very rushed full set of 11 songs but it was truly amazing!

And afterwards, Sam and Martin literally ran out of the dressing room for some unknown reason (well later Sam did say he must go to the toilet!). So I had a nice little chat with them. And Martin's shirt was so soft! he he! And then Sam rushed off to the toilet then promised me he would go and find irwin and al for me (they were a bit wary of coming out to the bar incase they got mobbed!)

Irwin and Al came out on their own accord and i think my friend and i must have been the only ones to recognise them! They were really lovely, a lot chattier that when I met them in brighton! I talked to them about everything, it was very funny! The music was loud from some guy djing so it meant i had to get very clode to each of their ears, he he! Irwin smelt very strongly of aftershave, ha ha! I told Irwin that they were playing on my 18th in october. Then he figured that the gig was supposed to be 18+ and asked how old I was! i told him i was 17 and had somehow managed to get in! He said, " oo sneaky...I'm tellling!" ha ha! It was very funny!

Erm so yes, I spoke to them for quite a while really, and I mentioned the forum and that everyone said hi! And I asked Al about RCA (will post on the RCA thread) and then left with a hug and a "see you at V!"

So all in all, a bloody brilliant evening!

The venue was so tiny and cute, the stage was just so close and the hoosiers were on top form!

There will be pictures and videos up on capital radio's site on monday. I think I was filmed quite a bit, seeing as I was the only proper fan there (singing all the words and wearing my hoosier t shirt)

Sorry this is so long!!!! Im actually so excited about it all, I'm never going to ever have the oppurtunity to see them at such an intimate gig ever again, and its just so amazing to think I was about 50 cm from irwin!

To sum it up - find a theasarus and look up amazing, then use every single word written down!

Yea, the stage at shepherds bush was massive in comparison to this! he he! Well i suppose it was more of a platform about 30cm off the ground rather than a stage! he he!

Whoop go my dancing! It was the bit that they do from the video, yay! We were the only ones doing it, oh yes! Fun fun!

Ooh yes every heartbeat. I asked irwin if they would ever do it again. He said that they had only played it that once and probably wouldnt do it again unless it was an acoustic set. But I hope they do!!!!!!!!!

Okay Im back with more details! Talking to MrsSparkes earlier and she managed to draw a lot more details out of me!

So yes, I said that the whole forum said hi and Irwin mentioned something about them naming the dance after all of us. To be honset I didnt really catch what he said as the dj was blasting out his beats but I heard something along the lines of 'we named the dance after you all' and the he said something else and then 'hoosierettes'. So whatever he said, he mentioned every single one of you on this forum (obvioudsly he didnt name you all, we'd still be there now!!)

On the subject of Irwin, if anyone has seen my pics, can you see his shirt doesnt quite close on the pic with him, al and my friend! Too many haribos before the show! ha ha! To be fair, it was quite a close fitting shirt, I'm not complaining! he he! I really want to figure out what aftershave he was wearing, it smelt good! A little overpowering though, he he!

Sam, well lots to say about this little superstar of a keyboard player! I asked him if he was a proper hoosier now seeing as he was doing all the shows etc. He replied with no! He said that he prefers to be free and in a way didnt want to be associated with them! I think its quite clear that the hoosiers are three and only three! But sam said he will play with them but he has his own stuff going on too. Whoop, go sam, we love you!

Oh yes, Sam was also wearing sunglasses inside which was quite funny, they were amazing sunglasses though! Except, he revealed his identity to us halfway through and had marks from the glasses, bless!

Has anyone been into paperchase recently? Well they do these keyrings that look like the robotic tv monster things that the hoosiers have on stage. Apart from the fact that they have pink fluff instead of grey they are exactly the same! Well i saw one and bought it so took it to show them last night! Irwin seemed impressed!

Advice to anyone going to see them, do the cops and robbers dance on the third chorus! It makes Irwin laugh!

Okay well there all the funny bits I can remember atm, I seem to be suffering short term memory loss as I thought I had loads of things to say!

Maybe the tiredness has got to me! I couldnt sleep last night because I was so excited about what had happened!

Oh another thing, there are photos up on the capital site - www.capitalradio.co.uk. There aren't that many! But any that were taken of irwin, well whenever that happened, it meant I couldnt see as the camera man stood infront of me! he he! I remember peering round during the instrumental in we didnt start the fire and seeing irwin laugh as my head popped round the side of the camera man! he he! There is also a picture of the crowd. If you look closely you can see a bit of red, thats my hoosiers t shirt! But I think I will be on lots of the videos, at one point the camera man zoomed in on the hoosiers bit on my tshirt, a nice close up of my chest! oh dear!

Okay no more thoughts coming to me for now!

People, dont be jealous! he he! Yes I had a great time but surely everyone has their own unique hoosier experience which they are proud of! I just say a mahoosive thank you to capital for letting me go!

For now, I will let you see capital's filming, I'm sure they can hold the camera a bit steadier than me! he he!

Well I think its at that time. Its hard because he was singing but you can tell that he starts to smile, well as good as you can while singing cops and robbers! If its not that time, its at the start of the third chorus.

Its not that long, the camera man got in the way! And its not great quality, but hey, its quite a nice short little video for all those out there who need a daily hoosier fix!

There was quite a bit of chatter, not everyone was a hardcore hoosier fan like me unfortunately. The chatter was really bad during clinging on for life. My mum was standing further back with my friends mum and she told some people to 'shut up and appreciate the music'. Whoop go mum!
